Dance.jpgDancing at the YOC gives youth the ability to express their inner talents and to express their power and emotion. Currently taught by Vicki Jarrett Campbell, her focus is to dig into the artistic forms of dancing, while giving the youth a chance to explore into culturist styles.

There are opportunities to compete in talent shows, and many events around the community. Yoc is currently open to volunteers that teach a variety dances,  including hip hop, salsa, and jazz.

The Youth Opportunities Grupo de Danza “Mis Raices”/ Dance group “My Roots.” is inspired by the roots of Mexican heritage. Taught by Elsa Rueda, whom is also the instructor for the Wichita Falls, “Mextizo” dance group, has helped to provide the foundation at the YOC. Elsa has more than 25 years of experience in Mexican Folklore, and is also the founder for Ysleta Junior High Folklorico in El Paso Texas, and instructor of  Grupo Folklorico de San Isidro D.B. in Mexico. Come check out Elsa on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the YOC!
